Creation of the Santo Amaro Municipal Park – Lençóis Maranhenses Portal

Virtú Ambiental developed the entire project for the creation of the Santo Amaro Municipal Park, contracted by the Municipal Government to establish a strategic conservation unit that complements the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park.

The work covered all the steps necessary for the legal creation of the park: detailed field survey of the dune and lagoon area, analysis of specific environmental characteristics, precise topographic delimitation with definitive geographic coordinates, and a complete diagnosis of the physical, biotic, and socioeconomic environments.

The team’s expertise made it possible to establish clear guidelines on permitted, prohibited, and tolerated uses in the park, considering both environmental conservation and the region’s tourism potential. The project also included organizing and conducting the mandatory public hearing and drafting the bill for consideration by the City Council.

This case demonstrates our ability to conduct complex projects from concept to legal implementation, creating effective conservation tools that reconcile environmental protection and sustainable economic development.
